Cards....

I love cards. I love getting cards. I love giving cards. I love notepads. I LOVE Christmas cards. I love business cards. I love postcards. I love it all. I love giving people a card and they....Ohhhh!! That's so cute!! And, I love to say..yes! Yes it is!!

But, more importantly....I love the story behind the card. I love the meaning of why I am giving it. I love getting a special card from someone and knowing they truly mean their precious words.

I still have the card from Lindsey she gave me moons ago. She was thanking me for loving her...for loving Tay. Sweet baby Taylor was just an infant. I still have the card from my friend Jalayne congratulating me on "expecting" Will's arrival. Brad still has the cards I sent him from England while I was student teaching....

So, if you are given a card from me...it's from my heart. My cards now come from a friend...who is part of our adoption story. She was the social worker for Will's adoption through Buckner. She is now a SAHM and a card-entrepreneur. She's made our Christmas cards, my Mommy business cards, cards for fun, cards for encouragement, notepads, teacher gifts, and soon to be Tay's bday cards. I love her designs and more importantly I love her heart for Christ.

Go check out her link in my favs and tell her Shelley sent ya.

God is good....always.

Georgia's On My Mind

Georgia was amazing. I am in awe of God's goodness when we travel to different parts of the country/world. As we drove through northeastern Georgia the kids were so incredibly shocked at how magnificent the terrain was. I kept asking...does this look like Waco? Both kids would yell...NO!!!

We went as fast and furious as we could while in GA. I mean, you only live once...might as well get all the fun in while you can! We went tubing in the Nantahala River. Brad took a bit of a "tumble" out of his tube....you might want to ask him about that yourself. We saw the Biltmore Estate in N.C. Did you know that there are approximately 10,000 volumes of books in George Vanderbilt's Library? That's just a tad larger than the Neimer Family Library....

We panned for gold. The kids thought this ROCKED!! We rode a train from a cute, tiny town called Dillsboro to Bryson City, NC. Tay and Will loved it!! Once we stopped in BC, we went to a train museum and got ice cream.

In Atlanta, we went to the World of Coca Cola. How delicious!! We drank more Coke products than we thought HUMANLY possible. We all felt water-logged. Or Coke-logged I suppose. We drank drinks from every continent. STEAR CLEAR from a product called Beverly.

And, to top it all....we got to spend time with my college roomie...Angela and her family. Ask my kids...what was your favorite part? And, they'll respond...Auntie Angela!! Their home is so warm and inviting nestled among the trees in Dahlonega. The kids played perfectly together. Will cried as we left...he missed his friends. It was such a blessing to spend time with them. It was good for my heart.

Oh, and Sir Brad went white water rafting with Chris, Angela's hubby. They had a BLAST!!! And, he didn't tumble out of this one...like he did in the tube.

God is good...always.

Matthew 6:26

Well, here it is! My first entry into my new blog! How fun! I debated on a title for this blog. I even asked Taylor her opinions. But, wouldn't you know? My opinionated daughter didn't have an opinion! So, I ended up with Matthew 6:26 which is my verse.

Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

I adore this....when we were trying to have a baby...I would recite this verse and look up to the heavens and say....God, you love those dumb birds...I guess you love me! :)

This post is short and sweet. I will post more later when time allows. Allowed time? What is that? Who has free time running around??? Hmmm....that is something I should investigate....
